Submission Information


We want to see your work, so read this page carefully about how you can get a chance to be in Binghamton Writes!


Publishing in Binghamton Writes is an excellent opportunity:
  • Achieve publication during your undergraduate career
  • Earn a nice line for your CV, resume, or graduate or professional school application
  • Pride in showcasing your own learning
  • Introduction to the publication process
  • Enhanced understanding of revision
  • Fame, prestige—and a complimentary copy

1. Authors must be currently taking Writing 110 or Writing 111.

2. Consider whether you want to send us one, two, or all three of your own essays so that your work can inspire and help future students.

3. Revise your essays for the final portfolio, and send your submission no later than the last day of classes.


Guidelines for submitting via email:

  • Send your essay(s) as attached Word Documents
  • Send each submission/individual essay in a separate email
  • Include the Works Cited as part of the document, and in the subject line put your last name and the genre of your work. 
    • For example: (Cordova): Personal Essay
  • Send your submission(s) no later than the last day of classes to binghamton.writes.editor@gmail.com


Guidelines for submitting with Submission Manager:

  • Our Submission Manager is soon to come! Please submit via email until further notice.


Thank you for giving us the opportunity to consider your work. Because of the volume of submissions, only those writers whose work is accepted for publication will be contacted, usually by the sixth week of the semester after you submitted your work.
